The Gateway Theatre has confirmed the return of its popular music festival in 2027 under a brand-new name, marking the next chapter in the venue's live music programme following the successful launch of Seaton's Cider Bash in 2026.
In response to audience feedback, the venue has announced Seaton’s Cider Bash will return on 29 & 30 May 2027 as Seaton’s Big Bash.
The event, which ran across two evenings at the beginning of this month, saw The Gateway Theatre return to the festival scene for the first time since its most recent festival in 2019. Seaton’s Cider Bash welcomed bands from across Devon and Cornwall, alongside a range of cider producers and vendors including Hawkstone, Branscombe Brewery and Sandford Orchards.
Following the success of the inaugural event, The Gateway Theatre has confirmed that the festival will return in 2027 as Seaton’s Big Bash, with further details expected to be announced in the coming months.
A spokesperson for The Gateway Theatre said: “We loved working on the Cider Bash so much that we thought we would do it again. Audience feedback is key to the decisions we make as a venue, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who attended and shared their thoughts with us. We will continue to listen to that feedback and make improvements to ensure the event is even better in 2027.”
Plans are already underway for next year’s festival, with the aim to build on the success of Seaton’s Cider Bash while introducing a fresh identity for the event. Further details, including ticket and line-up information, are expected to be announced at a later date.
