Our approach to ticket pricing
As a charitable organisation, we are committed to balancing public accessibility with the financial responsibility required to sustain our artistic and community work. Income from ticket sales forms an essential part of our funding mix and directly supports the costs of producing performances, maintaining our venue, and employing artists, technical staff, and the dedicated team who operate the theatre.
Ticket prices are set within a structured framework and may fluctuate in response to factors such as demand, performance date, and seating location. This flexible pricing approach enables us to respond appropriately to audience demand while maximising income from higher-demand performances. In turn, this additional income helps to subsidise lower-priced tickets, concessions, and access initiatives across our programme.
By adopting this approach, we aim to ensure the long-term sustainability of the theatre while remaining true to our charitable purpose: reducing barriers to attendance, widening participation, and making high-quality live theatre accessible to the widest possible audience.
BOOKING FEES
In addition to the ticket price, a booking fee may be charged to cover the costs of ticketing and transaction services. These costs include the operation and maintenance of secure booking systems, payment processing charges, and the provision of customer service support. The booking fee helps ensure that the maximum proportion of ticket income can be directed towards supporting our charitable mission and artistic programme.
As a charity, we’re conscious of the impact that additional charges may have on audiences. Booking fees are therefore reviewed regularly to ensure they remain fair, transparent, and proportionate, and that they continue to represent value for purchasers. Wherever possible, we seek to minimise these charges while maintaining a secure, reliable, and efficient booking service.
Audience members who wish to further support the theatre are invited to join our membership scheme. Membership is a meaningful way to demonstrate support for the theatre as a valued community venue and to contribute to its long-term sustainability. As a benefit of membership, booking fees are waived, offering a more cost-effective booking experience while directly supporting our charitable work.
Alternatively, booking fees can be avoided by purchasing tickets in person at the Box Office or by telephone.
