Reopening! Reopening! Reopening!

The Gateway works are in their final stages and, working with Seaton Town Council, we expect to return to The Gateway building in the next couple of weeks which means, at last, we can start to book events and open up ticket sales once more.

We cannot wait to open the doors to you all and we have two fantastic events to relaunch the programme; with another laughter-filled and hilarious night of comedy with the all new Gelos Comedy Laughter Lab on 23 May, the headliner this time is Andrew Maxwell. Tickets are available here.

Then our big fundraiser event will be a gig with the wonderful Riviera Dogs on Saturday 7 June, who, in a stunning show of support, are donating their fee for this gig to our fundraising effort. This upbeat, party band always deliver a great show. We know you love them and they love Seaton. Please come and join the celebration fundraiser. Tickets are available here.

This incredible support, your messages, questionnaire responses, donations and fundraising events have fuelled our efforts this winter and we are so thrilled to be announcing the reopening of the town’s much loved building and can only, wholeheartedly, thank you all for making this possible.

We know that many of you doubted this day would come. At times it was touch and go and, after such a devastating closure we still face financial challenges, so the fundraising must continue to ensure we can meet expenses for ongoing necessary improvements to the building and upgrade stage equipment that has been removed. Please donate if you possibly can. Agreeing to Gift Aid adds substantially to your gift.

Events are usually booked some months in advance so re-establishing our full programme will take some time to achieve but we will be announcing more fundraisers in the meantime. Please look out for more announcements, posters and website listings and please, please come in to celebrate and support the future security of our essential ‘Heart of Seaton’.

The Seaton Gateway Theatre Company Limited is a charity and located in the centre of the seaside town and fishing harbour of Seaton in East Devon. Facing onto the Lyme Bay, it lies on the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site. The exciting and diverse programme is complemented with our community led events, celebrated through music, dance, sport, and essential environmental productions reflecting the importance of our sustainable and ecologically conscious philosophy.

OUR WEEKLY RUN GROUPS

Community Activities

Medical evidence has proven socialising can reduce symptoms of depression, decreasing the feelings of loneliness and isolation and anxiety. With the increasing threat to our mental and physical wellbeing, in a post-pandemic world, our community led programme recognises the essential benefits to both mental and physical welfare; from seated yoga to taekwondo, photography to board games, and quiz nights to dance, there is an opportunity for everyone to make friends and develop personal interests.

OUR VERY POPULAR PICNIC NIGHTS

Cinema & Screening of National Theatre Productions

Our renowned and much loved Cinema Picnic Nights, when ticketholders can bring a picnic of their choice, is an opportunity for family and friends to get together and share a meal before enjoying the latest blockbuster film. Can’t be bothered to make your own picnic? Then there are plenty of places you can buy a delicious meal including Fish & Chips, pizza, burgers, Chinese, and many more. The theatre bar will be open and both our Front of House and Bar volunteers looks forward to serving your with your favourite drink.

A Sincere & Heartfelt Thankyou to the following organisations for their support

If it wasn’t for theirs and our wonderful guests generous donations, we wouldn’t be able to function the way that we do.
